The brewery ledger was locked inside a brewpub outside York. Tourists thought Guardian of Secrets IPA was just anothercraft beer, but the locals knew better. This was no ordinary English IPA as the recipe dated back six hundred years.
A multinational drink company offered millions for the recipe, and tourists tried their utmost to know more. When all were refused, they asked ‘why not’ the locals succinctly replied ‘the Brewer is the Guardian of Secrets’ and the recipe lives only in his head.
